What to expect

Clean the blocks and joints

Pressure washing removes general weathering and loose growth. Oil and rust may need separate treatment and can leave a permanent mark.

Replace jointing sand

Cleaning can remove loose sand from the joints, so suitable paving can be re-sanded once it is dry.

Add a sealer if suitable

An appropriate sealer can make future maintenance easier, but it is not right for every surface.

  1. 01

    Inspect and prepare

We check the blocks, joints, drainage and staining before clearing loose debris.

  2. 02

    Pressure wash

The blocks are cleaned at a controlled pressure, with attention paid to edges and joint condition.

  3. 03

    Re-sanding

Once the paving is dry, kiln-dried sand can be brushed into suitable joints.

  4. 04

    Optional sealing

If requested and suitable, a sealant can be applied after the paving has dried fully.

Will the cleaning damage my block paving?

Any pressure washing can expose weak joints or existing damage. We use a controlled method and point out problem areas before starting.

Can you remove tyre marks from block paving?

We can treat tyre and oil marks, but older or deeply absorbed stains may only lighten.

How soon can I drive on the paving after sealing?

Curing time depends on the product and weather. We will give you the correct wait time for the sealant used.

Can every mark be completely removed?

Not always. Age, porosity, previous treatments and the source of a stain affect the result. Once we have seen the surface, we will explain what is realistic and may suggest a small test area.

What if the surface is already damaged?

Loose pointing, failing coatings, cracked materials and unstable joints need to be identified before cleaning. We will discuss whether cleaning should be adjusted, delayed or avoided.
